Goverment To Support Premier Clubs Financially As Matches Are Played Behind Closed Doors

The government of Ghana has taken into consideration the challenges the clubs will be facing in playing their matches behind closed doors due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) Pandemic.

A letter was released last week by the Ministry of Youth and Sports before the commencement of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League indicating that all matches are to be played behind closed doors as a precautionary measure for COVID-19.

In view of that, the government of Ghana has taken it upon themselves to give out an amount of GH¢ 50,000.00 to each Premier League Club as a boost and compensation to the inability for spectators to visit various stadia during match days.

This initiative from the government will come as a huge boost to the clubs as almost all clubs were crying for such support.
