A/R: Fire Guts 3 shops and 7 rooms at Bantama

Three shops and seven rooms in a compound house located on the Bantama High Street, opposite the National Health Insurance Scheme office, was razed down by fire on Tuesday.

Some of the victims who spoke to Fox News’ Isaac Nsiah Foster, disclosed the fire started in one of the rooms and spread quickly to other rooms and shops in front of the building.

Meanwhile, the swift intervention by firefighters who came to the scene with three fire tenders brought the inferno under control.

Among the properties that were lost in the blaze included home appliances, musical instruments, computers, clothes, personal effects amounting to thousands of Ghana Cedis.

One of the affected persons revealed that he had lost more than Ghc20,000.

On his part, Fire Commander of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), D.O III Boadu Simon mentioned that the cause of the fire was yet to be established, as they had initiated an investigation into the incident.
